TERMS OF SERVICE
The rules of the road.
If you use this site, buy a journal, or join the community, these are the terms you're agreeing to. I tried to write them like a person.
Who I am, who you are.
"I," "me," or "Rebuild with Rhett" means Rhett Peters, doing business under the name Rebuild with Rhett. "You" means you — the person using this site, reading these emails, or buying these products. These terms apply between you and me when you do any of those things.
What you can do with the journals.
When you buy a journal (free or paid), I'm giving you a personal-use license to read it, write in it, print it for yourself, save it on your devices, and use it for your own sobriety journey.
What you can't do:
— Resell the journal or any part of it.
— Share the file with other people who haven't paid for it.
— Upload it to a torrent site, file-sharing service, or anywhere it can be downloaded by people who haven't bought it.
— Copy substantial portions of the text into your own product, book, or course.
— Use it as training data for any AI model.
If you want to share the journal with a friend or family member who's struggling, the right move is to point them at the free 7-day sample or buy them their own copy. Both are fine. Forwarding the PDF isn't.
Payments and refunds.
Digital journals (one-time purchases). All sales are final. Because the journal is delivered immediately as a digital download, I don't offer refunds once you've received it. If the file is corrupted, missing, or you didn't get the email — message me and I'll fix it or send a fresh copy. That's not a refund situation; that's me making sure you got what you paid for.
Membership (when live). Cancel anytime through your account dashboard. No partial-month refunds — if you cancel on day 5 of the month, you keep access through the end of that month and aren't charged again. No "trapped" subscriptions, no dark-pattern retention flows, no requirement to email me to cancel.
Cohort programs (when live). Full refund within 7 days of the program start, no questions asked. After day 7, no refunds.
1:1 packages (when live). Full refund before the first call. After the first call, no refunds — your time is held on my calendar and I've prepared for the work.
Chargebacks. If you have a problem, email me first. I'm one person and I'll respond. Filing a chargeback with your bank without contacting me first wastes your time and mine. If a chargeback is filed and resolved in my favor, I reserve the right to terminate your access to any products you have.
Community rules.
If you join my free Discord, membership community, cohort, or any other group I run, these basic rules apply:
Be honest. Don't lie about being sober, lie about who you are, or lie to other members.
Don't promote. No selling anything, no affiliate links, no plugging your own coaching practice, no recruiting people into your MLM or program. If you're not sure if your share is "promotion," it probably is.
Anonymity is welcome. You don't have to use your real name, show your face, or share anything you don't want to. We're a sober community, not a witness protection program — but use whatever level of identity feels right for you.
What's shared stays in the room. If another member shares something vulnerable, don't screenshot it, don't repost it, don't bring it up outside the community. Trust is the only thing this kind of group has.
No active threats. If you're sharing that you might harm yourself or someone else, I'll connect you to a crisis resource (988) and ask you to step away from the community until you're stable. This isn't a punishment — it's because I can't responsibly hold space for an active crisis, and it isn't fair to other members.
No drugs and alcohol talk that glorifies use. Talking about cravings, slips, history, regrets — fine. Posting drinking memes, romantic recollections of being high, or "the good old days" content — not fine.
I can remove anyone, anytime, for any reason. I won't do it lightly, and I'll usually explain why, but the community is mine to keep healthy. Membership is a privilege, not a right.
Stuff you create in the community.
Anything you post in the community — text, photos, voice notes — stays yours. You're not transferring ownership to me by posting. By posting, you give me a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to leave it on the platform for other members to see (otherwise the community wouldn't function). If you want something deleted, ask and I'll delete it.
I don't repost member content publicly without explicit permission. If I want to share a testimonial or message you sent, I'll ask first. The default is no.
Stuff I create.
All content on this site — text, photos, journals, videos, the visual design, the journals' design — is mine. You can quote a sentence or two with attribution. You can share a link to the site on social media. You can recommend the journals to a friend. You can't copy the journals, the website design, or substantial portions of the content into your own work without asking.
If you want to write about Rebuild with Rhett (in a podcast, blog, article, etc.) — yes, please, just email me first so I can help and so I know it's coming.
What I can't promise.
I can't promise that the journals will work for you, that the membership will keep you sober, or that 1:1 calls will solve anything. Sobriety is hard and individual. What I can promise: I'll show up, I'll do my best, I'll be honest with you, and I'll keep building tools that I myself would have wanted on Day 1.
See the disclaimer for the full medical/wellness disclaimer.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, my liability for anything related to this site, the journals, the membership, the community, or any service I provide is limited to the amount you paid me in the prior 12 months. If you've never paid me anything, my liability is zero dollars. This includes (but isn't limited to) lost profits, emotional damages, consequential damages, and anything else lawyers can think of to call a "damage."
This isn't me trying to be a jerk. It's the standard limitation that any small business has to set so that one lawsuit doesn't end the operation. If you have a real complaint, the right move is to email me first — I'll almost always make it right.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where I reside in the United States. If you and I ever disagree about something legal, the dispute will be resolved in that state. If you're outside the US, this doesn't waive your local consumer protection rights, but for everything else, US law applies.
Changes to these terms.
I may update these terms over time. The current version is always at this URL. If I change anything material, I'll update the "last updated" date and send a note to anyone with an active account or subscription.
